13.6.2009 was held the race of purebred Teke horses "Prize of Boinou" for the second time at the Pardubice racetrack. The race was for 3 years old and older horses, distance 1600m, weight 58,0 kg.
Company Kraupner s.r.o. donated the race with money purse of 50.000 CZK - big thanks to them, as Teke racing is at the beginning in Czech republic and needs every possible support.
Other thanks belong to Dostihovy spolek a.s. Pardubice, namely to ladies Mrs. Hromadkova and Mrs. Mandysova and to Mr. Kunat who accommodating Akhal Tekes in every aspect and they provide us excellent background for the race.
Finally only four horses (and almost same ones as last year) met at the start. It is quite sad, as there are over 100 purebred Tekes in Czech republic, but the problem is lack of activity and no interest of their owners in promoting the breed or testing their horses.
These four breeding stallions participated:
Mingam (1069 Kortik-2841 Mimoza), 1996, jockey Ilona Hronova
Dubler (1195 Ekemen-2724 Dogadka), 2003, apprentice jockey Lucie Danisova
Damask (1122 Aksum-2698 Davenda), 2003, apprentice jockey Tomas Vodrazka
Polotlize (Pyakize-Gagara), 1998, apprentice jockey Veronika Fricova
In the same style as previous year, leading from start to finish, won Mingam. This was last race of his career, now he will return to dressage work. The second placed Damask of Mrs. Skopalova. Damask finished fourth last year - this year he was more experienced and in a top form. Third placed the most experienced participant, Polotlize, who vindicated the third place from the last year. Last year he represented our farm, now he is in the ownership of Farma GG of Mr. and Mrs. Gal. Fourth finished Dubler, who passed well his first run at the racetrack and who will stay in race training.
